Literature and Football 2016

‘Literature and Football’ is a literature, journalism and football festival organized by the Athletic Club Foundation in cooperation with Biscay’s Regional Government and sponsored by Euskaltel. This year celebrates its 7th edition taking place between 7th and 12th of November at San Mamés.

The main program consists in six thematic encounters on the relationship of literature with football in which some of today’s most important authors will be present. This year among others, the guests will be writers and artists like Philip Kerr, Hector Abad Faciolince, Valerio Magrelli, Unai Elorriaga, Agustín Fernández-Mallo, Paul Nacach, Jasone Osoro, ALaia Martin and the singer of Los Planetas, Jota.

The festival will also feature a representation of ‘Mr. Pichichi’ by Roberto Ferro in the surrounding area of San Mamés. There will also be another edition of Athletic Club of Reading, an innovative activity in which zurigorri fans will be able to recommend their favorite books and share their taste and reflections with several players and coaches of Athletic. This year, Eneko Bóveda, Gorka Iraizoz, Xabi Etxeita, Andere Leguina, Maite Lizaso, Alberto Iglesias and Andoni Imaz will be participating in the activity.
