Beñat: “It is going to be a nice match”

Second training of the week for Athletic Club to four days of the match against Real Betis in Sevilla (Sunday, 2.00 pm, at Benito Villamarín). After the session, Beñat Etxebarria has appeared in the press room of Lezama to answer the questions of media. The red-and-white midfielder has expressed hope after recovering from an ankle injury that has kept him out of the field since late October: “The first weeks I had discomfort, but I am in the time to pick up the pace, but that is something you achieve playing matches. I am at 100% to enter the list and I will continue fighting for it.”

The player from Igorre, who played for Betis for five seasons, has recognised the special aspect of Sunday’s match for him: “The truth is that I wish I could be on Sunday, I have a lot of relationship with the people I was with and I follow them a lot. Betis is a team that has won twice in a row, they are dynamic and they have very talented players.” Highlighting the positive trajectory of the Sevillians, Beñat hopes to continue with the success of Athletic: “I think it is going to be a nice match because both teams are in a very good moment. But we are demonstrating to be very strong and in the last appearance at San Mamés we took a step forward and we have to stretch this dynamic as far as we can. Defensively we are working very well from the people at the top to the defenders and this is significant in the results.”
