“We’ll have to cope with the struggle to win”

Unai López calls for concentration to maintain the Red and White’s spell of good results and to be able to pick up the 3 points in the match against Real Betis on Sunday

Unai López appeared before the media this morning ahead of the match corresponding to the 16th matchweek in LaLiga Santander, where Athletic will visit Seville to play against Real Betis Balompié (Sunday, 2.00 pm, Benito Villamarín). The red-and-white central midfielder, aware of his side’s good dynamics, calls for concentration and calm to maintain their spell of good results:“We must stay 100% focused to get the three points, otherwise it will be really difficult. When the dynamics are good, the mood is different, but we know we must remain calm and keep on working as we have done so far.”

On Sunday, the Lions will visit Real Betis, a side that has won the last two league matches. Unai acknowledges the high quality of his teammates and talks about “coping with the struggle” to take the three points back home: “They are quality players, very good ones. We’ll have to cope with the struggle to get a victory. At El Sadar we found out what dynamics were the ones to follow in our away games. We had worked really well before despite not having won. We know that’s the way to follow. We are looking forward to the match in Seville, our team is always willing to fight and get the 3 points.”

When asked about Athletic’s aims with respect of the standings, the red-and-white central midfielder admits that “we all look at the table and seeing your side sitting up there makes you proud. We’re all happy and proud of what we’re doing, but we know this is all about daily work. Now it’s time to travel to Seville and go all out for the three points. That’s the most important thing right now.”
