Athletic to face CD Eldense in Copa round of 32

Athletic Club will play CD Eldense in the Copa del Rey round of 32. The 4,034-seater Estadio Nuevo Pepico Amat will host the clash.

Ernesto Valverde's team will visit Elda in the 5th of January (20:00 CET) before hosting CA Osasuna in Bilbao on the 9th. CD Eldense currently lead Group II of the Primera RFEF, a league which includes Bilbao Athletic. The team from Alicante knocked out Burgos CF and Coruxo FC to reach the round of 32.

This will be the second time the two clubs have met in the Copa. Their previous encounter was in the 1958/59 season. Then coached by Martim Francisco, Los Leones won the first leg 3-0 and drew 2-2 at San Mamés. On that occasion, Mauri Ugartemendi, Jose Luis Artetxe (x2) and Felix Markaida were on the scoresheet for Los Rojiblancos.
