SAN MAMES BARRIA
Athletic Club has created the ONE-CLUB PLAYER AWARD in recognition of other footballers, who, throughout their sporting career, have demonstrated their loyalty and commitment to their respective clubs, by identifying themselves with the values of the organisation that they represent, making them theirs and defending them at all times.
Athletic Club is a unique example due to its philosophy and its way of perceiving football. However, there are other sporting examples that are also deserving of our recognition, precisely because they exemplify the defence of the values that Athletic Club is endeavouring to convey to its sportsmen and women, throughout their all-round training as individuals: attention to improving their sporting ability, but also professionalism and social commitment to the Club and, therefore, the society which it is inseparably part of.
Only professional football players who have played their entire football career at the same club, excluding Athletic Club, from their début until their retirement, can be recipients of the ONE-CLUB PLAYER AWARD.
SECOND.- MERITS CONSIDERED
In making the ONE-CLUB PLAYER AWARD, the following merits shall be taken into consideration, among others:
- Having represented the values of the sports institution to which they belonged.
- Having been incorporated into the first team from the lower levels of the club.
- Extensive professional sports career.
- Having made a special contribution to the sporting and institutional development of the club.
- Other merits of a personal, social and sporting nature.
THREE.- COMPOSITION OF THE JURY AND DECISIONS
The jury shall be made up of the Board of Directors of Athletic Club.
The jury shall be sovereign in their decisions and enjoy full autonomy in choosing the winner. In addition, they shall interpret and supplement the rules of these awards by filling in any gaps and clearing up any issues that may arise.
The agreements of the jury shall be taken unanimously.
A single prize, consisting of a trophy, shall be awarded.
The ONE-CLUB MAN AWARD shall be presented for men's football and the ONE-CLUB WOMAN AWARD for women's football.
One award shall be presented every football season, in one of the two categories.
