Athletic Club have defeated Real Racing Club 1-2 at El Sardinero. Raúl García was the author of the two goals, while Javi Cobo scored for the home team.

Our team has been superior in the course of the match and, at times, it has done merit to obtain a wider victory, although the merits in one and another period have been very different.

In the first half Raúl García has put Athletic ahead in the scoreboard in a corner after a good header from Laporte. The attempts only happened in the Cantabrian goal, but in the only local chance Javi Cobo has tied the match.

Just a few minutes later, Raul García has finished with a header a cross from Susaeta.

In the second half the chances have shone by their absence in both goals and the Athletic has controlled the contest without excessive startles.

The play-off will be solved on the 22nd in San Mamés and meanwhile the challenges continue. The first in the league, Sunday, with the third Basque derby of the season, and third in San Mamés, this time against the SD Eibar, a new option to try to look higher in the table.
