Real Valladolid - Athletic Club

Athletic Club has been defeated, 1-0, by Real Valladolid in the New Zorrilla. Waldo scored the only goal of the match in the first half.

Two days of fight without rest remain to finalize the league and it is clear that Athletic will have to fight for the European classification, since other three teams are also three points away from finishing seventh.

The encounter today has not gone to the backline, because our rival was playing to be or not to be in the highest category next season and has demonstrated it especially in the first minutes, where it has imposed in all facets of the game. When it seemed that the match was beginning to balance, Waldo has scored a goal – his debut in the First Division- from outside the area (Valladolid is the team with the highest percentage of the entire category) and the thing has begun to twist.

Despite everything, after half an hour, Muniain has sent high a header , but at the break the result did justice to what was witnessed on the field.

In the second half Athletic has have more occasions than the team from Valladolid. Unfortunately, the chances of scoring of San José, Raúl García and Núnez (header to the post) have not become a goal and we return without a point to Lezama.
