Mission accomplished. Athletic played a serious friendly in Baiona against Toulouse, defeating them after coming back from a goal down with strikes from Aduriz and Ibai, this last one with a penalty in 87′. It was an interesting match, in which the lions played well against the ninth-placed French Ligue 1 team.

Gaizka Garitano played to the block that did not act against the Real, while only Yeray started from those who played against la Real. It was a special date for Lekue, who returned from injury, and for the youngsters Areso and Rojo, full-backs from Bilbao Athletic, although the latter never played.

Toulouse scored first with a brilliant action of the young Leya Iseka, younger brother of Batshuayi, who scored after an action mix of power and fantasy. Aduriz almost equalised with a header. Lekue has barely broken in a non-existent free-kick that has placed him in front of goal. And in those, Aduriz with the capacity to decide matches tied the scoreboard with a fantastic left-footed effort. He raised the team. Even before the break, the referee missed a silly penalty for Vivian.

The red-and-white team came out much more dominant in the second half. Vesga, intoned, has released a left-handed that almost surprises Goicoechea. However, the clearest occasion has been the one of Toulouse. Herrerin held Said’s hand to hand very well with his body and avoided the 1-2. And in 73 minutes, the referee sent off Iñigo Martinez in a booed decision, leaving the friendly in a ten against eleven that Alain Casanova, coach rival, in a gesture that honours him, has equalized to remove from the field voluntarily Boisgard without putting a relief.

Athletic has touched the victory in an action rehearsed with shot of Unai Lopez. And it has found it in 87′, with a penalty converted by Ibai, thanks to a Toulouse defender handballing a Balenziaga cross.
