Athletic Club’s reserve team have harvested their second consecutive win in Second Division B Group II: a convincing and well-deserved 0-3 win -secured in a great first half at Ciudad de Tudela Stadium-, has been added to the 4-0 overwhelming victory from last week in Lezama. Thanks to this result, our club has accumulated ten points after winning three games, drawing one and losing another.

Despite the initial scare given by Miguel Diaz -a low shot that hit the post after an individual play, three minutes into the match- we have seen one of the goals of the week in Tudela. Marcillo converted a left-footed shot, a ball thrown from his own half of the field that flew over Pagola taking him by surprise. Before the quarter-of-an-hour mark, Morcillo had the chance to increase the goal margin, but his side-foot shot went over the CD Tudelano’s crossbar. Past the half-hour mark a goal was ruled out to Sillero for offside. And on 43 minutes, another stunning goal scored by Vencedor, a direct free-kick from the edge of the box, has given Joseba Etxeberria’s Cubs a two-goal lead at half-time.

During the second half, Athletic’s reserve team kept dominating the game. As a result, a ball shot by Luengo hit the woodwork and Victor converted a corner on 68 minutes.

Next weekend, in matchweek 6, Bilbao Athletic will host C.A. Osasuna Promesas in Lezama on Saturday 28 September at 6.30 p.m.
