The coach has decided to pause his managerial career after achieving promotion with Athletic's second team
Bilbao Athletic head coach Carlos Gurpegui will step down from this position at the end of the season after deciding to pause his managerial career.

Director of football Mikel González opened negotiations to extend the contracts of Carlos and his coaching staff at the beginning of the season. However, Gurpegui asked to wait until the end of the season to make a decision, which he communicated to the squad recently, after already achieving promotion, so as not to affect their performance.
