Press conference with Urrutia and Ziganda in brief Athletic Club president Josu Urrutia and coach Jose Ángel Ziganda, along with members of the board of directors and players from AC’s first team, attended a press conference at Lezama on this morning 10th May. Urrutia has announced that Ziganda won’t be the red-and-white team’s mister for the next season 2018/19. The president has shown his gratitude to Ziganda for his dedication to the Club: "His attitude both as a coach and as a player has always led to put Athletic first", he appreciated. Likewise, Urrutia has praised Ziganda’s work career for the last seven years within the Club, most of time managing Bilbao Athletic. In response to why Ziganda will be no longer in charge, Urrutia has argued that Athletic Club’s average has raised, "the goals that we used to met every four or five years, this team has achieved them permanently, which has increased everyone’s average. We are here just to give our best to Athletic", as the president explained. "People are not machines, so we can have a bad year where things just don’t work; we can’t expect to be always be on top in sports, nor in life", he added. As for Kuko Ziganda, he has also thanked the support from the Club: "I would like to turn my sadness into pride and gratitude". Thus, he has accepted the decision made by the board of directors. "If I have to blame myself for something, that is not being able to take the most of these players". He has also thanked the great farewell by the team, as well as "all the encouraging messages and the support received all along".
