Passing away of President Javier Uria

The President of Athletic Club, Javier Uria Echebarria, has passed away this Wednesday in Iruñea. Athletic Club would like to express their deepest condolences to the family for such irreparable loss.

Under the circumstances, Athletic Club have suspended all official acts scheduled for the following days, as is the case of training sessions, in all categories, scheduled for today.

The Club’s vice-presidents, José Ramón Odriozola, Ignacio Ugartetxe and associate president, José Angel Iribar, have left to Pamplona to accompany the family.

The lying in state will be at Ibaigane Palace tomorrow, Thursday 20 June, from 12:00 to 19:00. .

The funeral will be next Friday, 20 June, at 18:00 at Saint Vincent Church in Bilbao.

We would also appreciate the media’s respect towards all private ceremonies organized by the family. The ceremonies organized by Athletic Club will be exclusively those that appear on the entity’s official press releases.
