Players’ condition: Operations

PABLO ORBAIZ LESACA: The player will have arthroscopic surgery of his left knee for the cleansing of residual fibrosis (arthrofibrosis), derived from the previous operation of the crossed anterior ligament. The operation will be performed on 1 June, by Dr. Mikel Sanchez, at the USP Clinic in Gasteiz. The period of recovery will be 3 to 4 weeks. JESÚS Mª LACRUZ GÓMEZ: The player will be operated on 10 June by Dr. Mikel Sanchez, at the USP Clinic in Gasteiz, for the reconstruction of a tear of the crossed anterior ligament of his right knee, which occurred this past 9 May. The period of recovery will be from 6 to 8 months. LUIS PRIETO ZALBIDEGOITIA: The player is pending surgery of the nasal septum. The probable date will be 2 June (not yet confirmed) and the operation will be performed by Dr Iñigo Ucelay, at Bilbao’s Virgen Blanca Clinic. In all the cases, and by express desire of the players, the media will not be allowed access.
