Material for Tignes

Athletic Club and the companies MENDIKOETXEA, PAREDES, ORBEA and CAVIRO have reached an agreement for the cession of the necessary alpine material that will allow the first team to complete their stage in Benasque, as in Tignes, in proper conditions; Orbea, for providing the bicycles; Paredes, the proper mountain footwear; Caviro, the buffs and Mendikoetxea the glasses, jackets or trousers among other products.

This relationship will mean a collaboration opportunity between ORBEA, PAREDES, CAVIRO, MENDIKOETXEA, GREEN, CEBE, BERGHAUS and ATHLETIC CLUB, counting on the prestige of the club for the success of the project.

Orbea is a company from Gipuzkoa that was founded in 1840 and that has been consolidated as one of the leading companies in the bicycles sector. Nowadays they count on a Cooperative of workers where they take into account a series of aspects such as development, the product, the ecology and the competition. It is not by chance that Orbea is one of the bench mark companies when we speak of cycling, since there are many teams that put their trust in its services, among them Athletic Club.

Founded in 1954, PAREDES Footwear is one of the great Spanish footwear manufacturers and one which has experienced greater growth in the last few years. During last the fifty years, Paredes Footwear has continued to maintain their character of a family-run company, managed by the second generation, with Rafael Paredes as their General Manager. With time, the company has diversified its lines of business, until centering in four main activities: sport and active footwear, footwear for hunting, mountain footwear and products for the prevention of labor risks. Their latest bet, at the beginning of 2004, has been the launching of labor clothes, which supposes its introduction in the textile market.

As far as CAVIRO S.L., it is a company established in Igualada, about 60 km from Barcelona. In 1992 CAVIRO S.L. it created its first tubular multifunctional seamless Buff, under the Buff® mark. Since then Buff is available in 30 countries throughout the world. What started out as a mark today represents a line of accessories that includes other products under the same concept.

To present MENDIKOETXEA, it is possible to say that it has two shops in Bilbao, at Autonomia 9 and Somera 24. In these establishments, one can find the best up-to-date brands in the market, such as Berghaus, Green, Arnasa… as well as a great variety of products related to mountaineering
