From this day forward, and according to circular number 35 of the RFEF, the federation body, the LNFP, clubs and football match organizers commit themselves to immediately apply the protocol practices for the promotion of sportsmanship and fair play that are carried out in other federations and in UEFA and FIFA competitions. These practices include the joint entrance to the field of play of referees and players and the greeting of all the participants before the initiation of the matches and on their conclusion.
For this both contending teams will meet in the dressing room’s tunnel five minutes prior to kick off and, preceded by the referee and his assistants, they will depart together onto the field, where they will align in front of the Director’s/Honour box and the visitors will proceed to greet, who will greet by passing in front of the referees and local team, whereas the hosts will do so with the referee and his assistants.
At the end of the match, players and referees will meet in the centre circle to greet one another and say goodbye to the fans before abandoning the playing field.
Likewise, and on another order of things, we’d like to indicate that when it’s time to call out our team’s alignment, the announcer will do so beginning with the first name of the player with the intention that the stands will call out the player’s last name or playing name. For example, the speaker will say Dani… so that the public in the stands can say Aranzubia; Luis… Prieto; Julen… Guerrero; Joseba… Etxeberria, etc…
