Jose Maria Núñez once again files legal claim for 250,000€ from Athletic Club and Organisation President

According to what Athletic Club and organization President Mr. Fernando García Macua have been legally notified, former employee Mr. Jose Maria Núñez has filed an Appeal for Reversal before the Labour Court of the Basque Country’s High Court, against the sentence pronounced on 19 November by the Bilbao Labour Court Nº 8, by which the Club as well as its president were acquitted of the claim for payment of 250,000 € for physical and moral damages, and the latter moreover of the obligation of payment of 900.000€ that Mr. Nuñez’ ironclad contract clause stipulated.

Once the corresponding ‘ironclad’ amount was collected, after the deduction of the consequent taxes, Mr. Núñez has formulated an Appeal for Reversal, by virtue of which he reiterates his request that Athletic Club be sentenced, and Mr. Fernando García Macua personally, to pay to him another 250.000€ for damages. In addition, he reiterates the claim that the president of the organization jointly respond with the club for the payment of the ironclad clause.

The Board of directors deeply regret the step taken by Mr. Núñez and reiterates its firm commitment to end ironclad contracts and contractual and management practices that are beyond the principles of austerity, transparency, reasoning and honesty at Athletic Club, and it is determined to defend the interests of the Club before the Labour Court of the Superior Court of Justice, and before however many instances are deemed appropriate, which must always outweigh any personal interests, especially those of a purely lucrative nature.
