The Athletic Club Expedition are in Madrid to take on Real Madrid this Sunday, 27 April. Its members departed from Bilbao Airport at around 18:00 hours and arrived at Barajas just before 19:00, led by the President Fernando García Macua. During the journey to the hotel news had been received on the passing away of ex-player Félix Marcaida.
At 19:50 hours they reached the NH Abascal Hotel and just like it had been throughout the day all eyes were on Carlos Gurpegi, as an infinite number of cameras were waiting for him to arrive along with dozens of fans who did not for one minute stop cheering him on. He had dinner with the rest of his companions and then went to have a rest in his hotel room along with roommate Tiko.
What’s more, representatives of the El Bombín Supporters’ Club presented Javi Martínez with a trophy, afterwards, Tiko and Luis Prieto signed autographs and had their photos taken with more than a hundred fans.
