The Copa as seen from inside

Back home with pride

The Copa is over for this year. The sun shone for all those at La Calderona on the day of our return (Valencia-Bilbao 18:00). The night was hard, as was expected, but the re-comforting feeling of being supported by our great fans was in the air. The fans being ten to one against Levante, who are in the relegation zone and against Barcelona in a final. Hope and commitment, but with our feet on the ground. A top notch following. Adding to each an every on one of them whatever word you like, we’d come up with a wide range of descriptions where such adjectives as incredible, immeasurable, amazing, unforgettable, indescribable, endless, immense… could become common and redundant.

The first smiles are starting to appear again on the players’ faces after sharing their feelings with their loved ones and upon reading at each table a card from a legend saying “altza gaztiak! (Come on young guns!)”. Just like the banner when departing from San Mamés, it seems as though it were only yesterday, “denon artean lortuko dugu (keep it up together we can win)” and that’s how it was, altogether we have shown we were able to make it. And altogether will be able to turn tears into tears of joy. In time.
