Every fan’s dream

Last Saturday, the 4th, at 11:00 in the morning, a dream came true for forty Red-White fans: that of playing a football match at San Mamés.

This event referred to as “The match of your dreams” was exactly just that, a group of sympathizers belonging to Athletic Club’s Fundazioa Foundation saw their life-long dream come true.

The chosen ones, all of whom have the Athletic Club Foundation’s Sympathizer’s card, and who many were from such far way places like Barcelona, Alicante, León and La Rioja, received their first surprise of the morning when they found out that, they would be joined by three illustrious Athletic Club ex-players such as Joseba Aguirre, Rafael Alkorta and Oscar Alkorta. Who in turn were the team captains, Athletic Club played wearing the red-white colours, and the Athletic Club Foundation played in white.

A festive atmosphere right from the start. Nervousness and the smiles on behalf of the stars of the day already evident when the players were changing in the locker rooms. Afterwards, the match turned into a great celebration with a wonderful atmosphere and a lot of fun assured.

The outcome of the encounter; 3 goals to 2 in favour of Athletic Club, goals scored by Ignacio Mellado, Gontzal Uriarte and Beñat Pikaza for the Red-Whites and Aritz Azaola and Jon Madina scored on behalf of the Foundation.
