Friendly against Paraguay

In support of Biscayan football


Athletic Club, in compliance with their commitment to base football, has organized an international match against the Paraguayan National team that will take place on 3 March, at San Mamés. The entire takings of the above mentioned match will be given to the clubs of Biscay.

This match, against a team that has qualified for the 2010 South African World Cup, corresponds to an initiative taken by Athletic’s President, Fernando García Macua, to collaborate with the clubs of Biscay and in this way try to mitigate their economic situation as they find themselves in a precarious position due to the calling off of the match that was to be played by the Basque National team last Christmas.

Athletic Club’s President, Fernando Garcia Macua, and the Biscayan Football Federation President, Iñaki Gómez Mardones, will be offering a press conference, on Friday, 19 February, at 12:30 at Ibaigane Palace, to explain the organizational details of the match.
