The official Athletic Club web page (www.athletic-club.net) has become well-known worldwide, as verified in last year’s website hit counter, which amounts to more than six million visits, from 190 countries /regions. Practically speaking there has been someone interested in knowing about our ‘website’ in the four corners of the globe.
Such as Afghanistan, Somalia, Falkland Islands, Fiji and Sri Lanka, for example in the top spot is Spain with a total of 5,552,041 visits. Followed then, with a big difference, by France (48,898), the United Kingdom (47,818), the United States (33,582), Germany (32,919), Italy (31,139) and Mexico (16,385).
The study also analyses the number of visits sent at a state level that is to say cities. As you would expect, Greater Bilbao monopolized the study with the greatest number of hits (2,305,564) and also on the podium were Madrid (692,916) and the Getxo District of Las Arenas with (526,367). Also, Barcelona, Eibar, Gasteiz, Donostia, Iruña, Seville and Valencia, in this order, complete the list of localities that have tuned into the Red-White site.
The users’ general vision, which is another segment of information gathered in the study, reflects, as already mentioned, the register of 6,002,195 visits over a one year period, although the real number of once only users boils down to 1,478,061. In this sense, it should be kept in mind that the percentage of new visitors is of 23.20 %. On the whole, 59,640,078 pages have been visited, with an average of 9.94 pages per visit and an average of three minutes and 37 seconds spent at the site.
With regards to the sources of traffic when accessing our Red-White site, this has mostly been done directly (45.54 %) and (40.38 %) with search engines, leading in this section is Google (37.63 %). On the other hand, ‘athletic’ is the most used key word (44.24 %) by the visitors who want to look for our ‘website’ followed by ‘athletic club’ (18.68 %) and then ‘athletic bilbao’ (3.38 %).
Not taking into account the main page, which appears by default whenever a user accesses the official Red-white ‘website’ the page with the most hits on behalf of the Internauts is the one that corresponds to the Athletic Club team, with
1,317,277 visits.
Interest in acquiring Athletic Club products has also increased by means of Internet, since the virtual shop is listed as the next most visited page, just ahead of those that refer to the Sports facilities in Lezama and our Club’s daily news.
