Liwro Ground made possible

The funds raised from the ‘Impossible Match’ will make possible the construction of a football ground and changing rooms in the locality of Liwro (Democratic Republic of Congo) thanks to the overwhelming success of the meet in San Mamés. The great ambiance and the public’s and participant’s predisposition gave way to a unique match, where Athletic’s emotions surfaced in all those present, turning the hour long event into a moment of shared fun and happiness.

From Athletic Club and its Foundation we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the people, companies and institutions that have made the success of the initiative possible though their collaboration and later realization of the solidarity project – the changing rooms will also serve as classrooms- that begins now and which we will be reporting on from time to time. This appreciation, of course, is to be extended also to all those spectators that attended San Mamés on Monday, which were far more than the most optimistic forecasts and, once again, showed that Athletic Club followers are unique.
