On Saturday, 12 June the “II State Street Football Championship for the Homeless” will be played at the Lezama Sports Facilities. Organized by the NGO Rais Euskadi and sponsored by the Athletic Club Fundazioa Foundation, the championship will face off teams made up of homeless people that Rais has in several Spanish cities like Bilbao, Donostia, Madrid, Valencia, Murcia, Alcobendas, Móstoles and Seville.
The inauguration will be at 10:30 hours, with the presence of institutional representatives from Athletic Club, the Athletic Club Foundation, Bilbao Town Hall and Biscay’s Provincial Government. The inauguration consists of a team reception on behalf of the Athletic Club and the kick off of honour will be taken by a child who trains every day with the Athletic Club Rais Foundation team, thus becoming an involuntarily symbol of integration and normality.
Afterwards, from 10:45 to 14:30 hours the first stage will take place, with the semi-finals taking place at 16:30 hours and the final at 18:00 hours. At 18:30 hours the prize ceremony will occur.
