Going after the ninth junior championship

Athletic Club has won the Junior Copa eight times (in 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1970, 1984 & 1992) and has been runner-up on seven occasions, always against Sevilla, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, therefore this will be our sixteenth final appearance, which will be on Saturday the 26th June in Almuñécar, since the competition was inaugurated in 1951.

The tally against Real Madrid is of three victories and two defeats. The last of these occurring on 18 June, 1981, which was a cruel affair because of the way things happened, seeing that one of the goals scored by Real Madrid was scored when the ball entered via a hole in the net.
