Reactions to the draw
Joaquín Caparrós: “Alcorcón was a very “copero” team during last season and one which we have the utmost respect for. We hope not to repeat what happened to Madrid, nor us, seeing that it was another team from Madrid, Rayo Vallecano, who eliminated us. There’s still time to prepare for the Copa and now our minds are only on”.
David López: “It’s a complicated pair-off because they have recently been promoted and especially because last sesaon they had a good Copa competition even defeating Real Madrid. The fact of playing the first away is still positive, it guarantees nothing as we saw last year against Rayo vallecano”
Andoni Iraola: “The elimination round is going to be difficult. You never know if it’s better to play against a First or Second Division team, although at least in the latter the 2nd leg match to be played at San Mamés is assured. Alcorcón is a very compact squad and will make things difficult for us, but now we must concentrate on the League”.
Gorka Iraizoz: “Especially complicated at their pitch, as clearly shown, we must take advantage of this competition to try to reach as far as possible”.
