Obituary

Former Athletic Club Premier player during the 1950-51 and 1953-54 seasons Mr. Jose Luis Estenaga Ruiz has passed away. Estenega, a left defence born in Donosti on 22 August 1929, played 30 official matches with Athletic, 24 in Liga and 6 King’s Cup.

His best season was the first, in which he was starting line-up for 24 matches. His debut was in a Liga match on 12 November 1950 (Valencia 3 – Athletic 1) under the management of Josetxu Iraragorri, and his last match was on 1 March 1953, (Athletic 1 – Espanyol 0), in this case under the supervision of Antonio Barrios.
