Athletic Club Clarifications

In view of the news that has appeared in various the media with regards to the possible date and venue of the 2011/2012 Copa Final, Athletic Club would like to publicly stress the following:

1-The venue requested by our organization for the final match, is still Santiago Bernabéu Stadium as it was declared in the first and only meeting, concretely held on Monday, 13 February, in Madrid between the RFEF, FC Barcelona and Athletic Club.

2- Athletic Club is yet awaiting official notification of the date and time of the second meeting.

3-Thus, Athletic Club wishes to stress that it has not received any information whatsoever that its proposal has been rejected.

4-Furthermore, Athletic Club believes that any speculation in regards to the date and venue of the King’s Cup (Copa) Final in no way benefits the interests of the Federation, the contending Clubs, and nevertheless their fans.
