Medical conferences

On Thursday, March 27, the last round table of the series of medical conferences organised by the Basque Football Federation on the occasion of its centenary (1913-2013) will take place at the Municipal Library in Bidebarrieta at 7:30 p.m.

After doctors Luis Serratosa and Mikel Sánchez, it will be the turn of various members of the Biscay medical community who have been linked to football for many years, gathered at the same table, where they will share their experiences, both professional and anecdotal, from over the years.

The event, the title of which is ‘History of Health Care in Biscayan Football, from the scientific to the anecdotal’, is coordinated by Dr. Josean Lekue (head of the Athletic Club Medical Services) and will be attended by Angel Gorostidi (former head of the Athletic Club Medical Services, a cardiologist and currently a board member of Athletic Club), Fernando San Cristóbal (BSc in Nursing and linked to Sestao F.C.), Juanjo Campa (BSc in Nursing and ex Athletic Club), Paco Angulo (Athletic Club doctor since 1986), and Professor Jose Antonio Vicandi (traumatologist and linked for many years to the Basque Federation and the now defunct Policlínica San Antonio).
