Thinking Football – Second Day
The Thinking Football Film Festival, organized by the Athletic Foundation Club and Sala BBK, continues…
The Thinking Football Film Festival, organized by the Athletic Foundation Club and Sala BBK, continues tomorrow Thursday, 8 May, with two films dedicated to referees.
At 19:30 hours the documentary ‘The Referee’ will be shown. This is a documentary that follows the Swedish referee Martin Hansson in the weeks prior to the designation of the referees that would participate in the 2010 World Cup, a dream that he would see endangered after the terrible error he commits by giving for valid an illegal goal by Thierry Henry which classified France and left Ireland out of the World Cup. ‘The Referee’ is a film that humanizes the figure of the referee, showing how a person with dreams and fears, becomes the center of wraths due to an involuntary error.
At 20:30 hours we will be able to see ‘L`Arbitro’, a wonderful Italian comedy that tells the parallel stories of the referee Cruciani and the regional category team Atlético Pabarile and its rival Montecrastu, of the Sardinia Third Division. Filmed in black and white, Paolo Zucca carries it out through half grotesque half endearing characters (Brai the blind trainer, Matzutzi the star that returns from Argenita, the corrupt referee Mureno) a fantastic film that registers in the tradition of Italian grotesque comedy. It was presented in the 2013 Venice Festival.
Both sessions will take place in Sala BBK, with free entrance until all seats are full.
