Athletic, pioneers in .EUS internet domain

On 28 June, Athletic Club participated in the presentation ceremony of the .EUS internet domain, as it is part of the group of 92 pioneers; a list made up of various organizations from a variety of dimensions, origin and character.

Some of the pioneers of this movement that attended the event were (in alphabetical order), Aizpea Goenaga Mendiola (Etxepare Euskal Institutua, Director); Alberto Barandiaran Amillano (Hekimen, Director); Cristina Uriarte Toledo (Eusko Jaurlaritza, Minister of Education, Linguistic Policy and Culture); Jon Berasategi Zabala (Athletic Club, General Manager); Mertxe Mujika Balantzategi (AEK, General Coordinator); Michelle Mounios-Adurriaga (Hendaiako Herriko Etxea, Person-in-charge of Linguistic Policy and Euskara); Nerea Enbeita Enbeita (Euskaltel, Institutional relations), as well as Juan Mari Torrealdai, as President of PuntuEus Foundation.

Once the so-called pioneer-phase has been completed, we will soon begin the ´launch-phase´ (between 16 September and 18 November) during which time public institutions, associations and enterprises will have priority in registering their domain names. All domain names applied for during that period will be activated on 3 December that is, International Euskara Day, before the .EUS domain name registration is opened to the general public.
