Thank you Juliapa and Serso Honduras

We are nearing the end of our stay in Honduras. Today we’ve had a day…

We are nearing the end of our stay in Honduras. Today we’ve had a day off and they’ve organized a farewell dinner for us prior to our departure tomorrow to the Basque Country.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude for the kindness and affection demonstrated during our stay in the parish of Jutiapa.

Thanks to Victor, Manolo, Lesmes, Metxu, Arturo, Ignacio, Doris, Danilo, Quique, Oscar, Tomas, Aura, Armando, Rita, Sergio, Roni, Genis, Bessy and Magdalena.

A special thanks to each and every one of the 200 boys and girls with whom we’ve shared this unforgettable experience.

Congratulations to Serso Honduras for its work with the poor, marginalized and neediest people of the municipality. Express our thanks for having shown us the projects that they’ve been developing since their foundation in 1998, after Hurricane Mitch.

– Teacher at home, (for over 10 years, educating over 100 children).

– Agricultural Development Project (Cocoa cultivation, 9,000 tons per year).

– Water Project (20,000 persons, 5,000 families) have benefited.

– housing Project (600 houses built). They have been an active part of the project along with other institutions.

Entities such as:

– ODCA (Community shops), currently 17.

– SILOE (Centre for Integrative Natural Medicine).

We return to our community (as they say around here) with the pleasant sensation of having done an ‘intensive hands-on course’ on the meaning of the words solidarity, service, and responsibility; commitment, social justice with and for your community (Jutiapa).

In short, to construct a more just society where there is equality and opportunities of advancement for all.

For all of this, and from the heart, thank you and see you soon!
