The Athletic Club Women’s team has been unable to draw anything positive from their visit to the FC Barcelona facilities. The Catalans, with two goals by Sonia, another two from Alexia and Jenni, respectively, have gained a comfortable victory against Juan Luis Fuentes’ team.

The locals took the lead in the first minutes of the match with a free kick taken by Sonia Bermúdez and, after a bounce, the ball edged into Ainhoa’s goal. The rojiblancas regained control of the ball and in the minute 20, in a corner taken by Erika, Lizaso finished off with a header to the crossbar and once again the shot on goal taken from the rebound prevented a rojiblanco goal. They were Athletic’s best minutes; however, in the 40th, and after a play protested from Juan Luis Fuentes’ bench, Alexia scored the second goal.

In second half, and before ten minutes of play, Sonia Bermúdez picked up a cross from Alexia, haggled past Ainhoa and left the match sentenced. In the minute 70, Irene had the clearest occasion for the rojiblancas and in the 76th, Jenni scored the fourth after finishing off a cross placed by Vicky and combed by Marta to the far post.

On Saturday, the rojiblancas receive Oviedo Moderno in Lezama, from 8 in the evening, in a match in which the women’s team needs to get back on the winning track.
