New jersey for the 2015/16 season

The new Athletic jersey for the 2015/16 season is here. Nike Football has designed a new and attractive first rate uniform for Athletic Club, which reflects our unique identity and distinguished history. The new design is an attractive variation of the traditional red and white stripes. This innovative, high performance garment lives up to the level of our club’s history. It will be available to purchase from July 3rd at the following places: Athletic Club official shops, on our website www.atheltic-club.eus or by calling 902 540 900.

Regarding next season’s design, the red and white stripes are emphasised. From the collar to the hem, there will be five stripes increasing in width and impact compared to previous designs. On the shoulders and sleeves, a red panel highlights that part of the body, creating an even more powerful and imposing image on the playing field.
The jersey presents a modern black polo style collar, with hidden buttons. We can also see a thin red trimming around the edge of the collar that is completely red on its lower side. On the upper part of the collar, we can see a small Ikurriña (Basque flag).

On both sides of the jersey, we can see a black trim that joins the white stripes situated on both sides of the black shorts.
Aside from representing a proud symbol of the cub, this new shirt also offers the players the latest Nike innovations regarding performance, technological textile, humidity control and environmental sustainability.

NIKE DRI-FIT TECHNOLOGY

Nike DRI-FIT technology absorbs the body’s perspiration and displaces it to the exterior of the shirts and trousers, where it evaporates rapidly. That enables the players to perform at their highest level, because they stay fresher, dryer and more comfortable.

The ventilation holes, cut by laser, and the mesh panels situated in strategically located points of the garment are designed to improve performance, as it enables increased air circulation on the player’s body and helps to better control body temperature.

The sleeves and the front part of the jersey are made with a resistant yet light fabric, while the mesh panel located at the back improves air circulation and eases movement.

SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION

Thanks to the use of recycled polyester, which offers an unbeatable performance and a lower environmental impact, Nike achieves its goal of obtaining sustainable innovation in the fabrication of its clothing.

Every element of the uniform – the jersey, shorts, and socks – is made using recycled polyester, obtained from recycled plastic bottles that are melted down to obtain the thin thread used to create the fabric.
