Tomorrow, March 5 at 7:00 pm at Sala BBK in Bilbao, will see the start of the sixth edition of the Thinking Football Film Festival embracing cinema and football. It will start with the screening of “Kenny”, a film that covers the career of Kenny Dalglish, the legendary Liverpool player and manager. Known as “The King”, in addition to a brilliant sporting career, Dalglish stood as a symbol in the fight for Justice for the victims of the Hillsborough tragedy. After the film, the audience will be able to chat with Stewart Sugg and David Tryhorn, the director and producer of the film.

Prior to the screening of Kenny, the Athletic Club president, Josu Urrutia, will present the 2017 Audience Award to Duncan Kenworthy and John Donnelly, the producer and scriptwriters respectively of “The Pass”, the film that was rated best by the audience at last year’s festival. The prize consists of a sculpture by the Basque artist Angel Garraza and € 2,000, which the winner donates to a social project related to football.

Admission to the hall is free until capacity is reached.

The Thinking Football Film Festival is organised by the Athletic Club Foundation with the collaboration of Sala BBK and sponsorship of Euskaltel. BCD Travel, Hotel Meliá Bilbao and Comunitac are also sponsors of this edition.
