The monitors of the Summer Campus and Internal Campus organised by the Athletic Club Foundation have received this Monday, in San Mamés, a training course on child protection given by Iñaki Alonso. The new Head of the Athletic Club’s Child Protection area, an innovative figure in elite football that the institution implemented in mid-April, explained to the monitors the elements of prevention and relevant action protocols to generate safe spaces for children in the sports field.

This is the first time that this course has been given, with compulsory attendance by the monitors, and a further step towards laying the foundations for systematic work in favour of the comprehensive protection of the children with whom the Club works.

Iñaki Alonso has a degree in Law from the University of Deusto, he is an international expert in Humanitarian Aid and a specialist in Children’s Rights, working for UNICEF and Save the Children. He has carried out and participated in research, studies and analysis on the different types of violence against children. In addition, he has been sports coordinator of the female Pauldarrak for the last 16 years.
