Iribar and Jon Rahm, two legends together

Rahm did not want to miss the match between Athletic Club veterans’ team and SD Plentzia that took place yesterday in Plentzia. The golfer from Barrika is a great Athletic fan. He was engaged in football before switching to golf and, like Iribar, he also played as a goalkeeper. He was part of the SD Plentzia club from U8 to U14, when he decided to hang up the gloves to begin his golf career. A bond still exists between Rahm and the white-and-blue team as his brother Eriz is part of the club, it was him who defended their goal in yesterday’s veterans’ game.

Jon Rahm has had a good year so far in sporting terms, he has won the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, the Ireland’s Open, and the Open de España in Madrid for a second time. He is currently ranked 4th in the World Ranking and is at the top of the European Tour’s Race to Dubay Standings. In the last few years, he has not stopped reaping successful results, becoming one of the most acclaimed Biscayan sportspeople these days.
