First Peña Genuine of Athletic Club inaugurated

The first 180 members of Peña Genuine Athletic Club celebrated yesterday the launch of their Peña. This was an emotional event that took place at Hotel Ilunion of Bilbao as it will be the headquarters of the Fan Club. Aurresku dance was performed by two team players, gifts, official photo and a thank you speech. The atmosphere was incredible: “a unique Fan Club uniting a community”. Athletic Club president, Aitor Elizegi, Juan Carlos Ercoreca and the whole team attended the event. Other participants such as Andoni Goikoetxea, Rafa Alkorta, Andoni Ayarza, Manolo Delgado, honored member of the Fan Club and the delegates Goyo Arbizu, Begoña Castaño and Iker Goñi, were present.

The aim of this Fan Club is to support the social objective of this team created by players with disabilities. The president, Txema Gil, “the goal is to raise awareness and support the team both home, in Lezama and away. Organise and take part in social events, promoting the values of our Peña so that other clubs and entities can join us.” All those wishing to participate, can do so by sending an email to [email protected].
