“No child will end up without a toy”

The Club and the Foundation get together and donate 5,000 tickets for the Athletic – Barça to support the collection of toys organized by Cruz Roja.

María Tato, deputy secretary of Athletic Club has announced an initial donation of 5,000 tickets for the match Athletic Club – FC Barcelona for any person that donates a toy or a game, non-sexist nor warlike. The campaign “The rights at stake” by Cruz Roja Bizkaia has been presented today. The match, part of Primera Iberdrola, will be played on Sunday, January 5 at 12:00.  Athletic Club and the Athletic Club Foundation are now requesting the collaboration of the red-and-white family so that no child spend the upcoming Christmas without a present from Olentzero or the Three Wise Men.

The announcement was attended by Jon Vázquez Eguskiza, director general of the Foundation, the football players Jone IbáñezAndoni GoikoetxeaManolo Delgado, as well as Víctor Gutiérrez, director of Cruz Roja Bizkaia, Isabel Iturbe, Vice President of RETABilbao Basket, Belen Arrojo and Gaby Ocete players of Lointek Gernika Bizkaia, and other delegates of the different collaborating entities. After the institutional picture,  María Tato pointed out that “the 5th is the perfect day for the families to join this cause by donating a toy they can come to San Mamés and enjoy a great match and afterward the Three Wise Men parade”.

During the following days, Athletic Club will provide all the information regarding where to exchange the presents for tickets, the days available for the exchange, as well as the collection date. The initial figure of 5,000 tickets could be extended throughout the campaign depending on the availability and the demand.
