Brief summary of the results of the six Athletic Club youth academy sides that have played during the first weekend of the year
Only half a dozen of our Youth Academy teams have played league matches within these last two days
Bilbao Athletic ended the first half of the season with a 0-1 win against Alavés’ reserve team at Lezama, thanks to a single goal from Artola in the first period, sitting on a promotion play-off position to LaLiga SmartBank in the Second Division B Group II. Moving upwards, CD Basconia get to the middle of the season without having lost for seven consecutive league matches, prevailing 0-1 against Somorrostro with a goal from Cabo scored after the break. Cadets B keep leading the División de Honor standings after a 4-1 home victory against Balmaseda FC; goals from Hierro, Alboniga, Vicandi and Hurtado.
Athletic Club Women B started 2020 in the same way as they had finished 2019, with a one-goal defeat, this time against CD Parquesol in Valladolid. A result that moves them down to the second position of the Reto Iberdola Norte table right behind FC Barcelona, who are the new leaders in their category. The C and Cadets sides solved both their games with victories on Saturday.
