At 8.00 pm this evening, San Mamés wanted to pay a more than well-deserved tribute to Osakidetza (the public health care system of the Basque Country) and all its staff, who are tirelessly working to minimize the impact of the coronavirus outbreak at every hospital in the Basque Country.
“You are giving your heart and soul to help us, our heartfelt thanks” was the slogan that could be read at our stadium, near to one of the many battlefields where the virus is being fought, Basurto Hospital.
San Mamés has was lit up in blue, the distinctive colour of the health care services, as a tribute to them.
