We review the 15 lions who have scored from free kick in league matches since 2000. Yeste (8) and Beñat (5), at the top
Fifteen Athletic Club players have scored direct free kicks in the league so far this century. There have been 36 free kick goals scored by the red-and-white team during the last twenty editions of the league, the last one by Unai López last March at the José Zorrilla Stadium in Valladolid.
In this particular ranking, Yeste (10) is the Athletic Club’s top set-piece goal scorer of the 21st century. He is followed by Beñat, with 5 goals (8 if we add other competitions), while Susaeta, Luis Prieto, Tiko, Orbaiz, Gabilondo and David López are the other six lions who have scored more than once in a league match.
