San Mamés lit in green on ALS Day

The exterior of the stadium has been lit on the World Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Day

Every year since 1997, June 21 is a day celebrated in recognition of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) patients and their carers.

By lighting up San Mamés, Athletic Club has joned hands with the rest of the world and all the associations who promote the different activities undertaken on this special day. This is a date that intends to raise awareness about a neurodegenerative disease that has no cure and show the need of carrying out further research in this field. The primary aim is to make the necessary scientifical advances in the medical procedures that manage to improve the life expectancy and the quality of life of those who suffer from ALS.
