Athletic vs Betis: Practical Information

Relevant information for all those attending Athletic Club vs Real Betis at San Mamés (Sunday, 16:15 CET)

San Mamés hosts Athletic Club’s LaLiga 2021/22 Matchday 18 fixture against Real Betis this Sunday at 16:15 CET. Below there is some relevant information for anyone coming to Bilbao to watch the match.

Stadium access

The gates will open at 14:15 CET. Please try to arrive ahead of time so you can speed up your entry to the stadium, avoid last minute crowds and enjoy the start of a match. Check out the Match Pack, with everything you need to know ahead of the clash.

Access of transfer your Membership Card

Club Members can enter the stadium with their physical membership card or with their digital membership card (in the MY ACCOUNT section) of the Athletic Club app.

We remind you that, if you cannot attend the match, you can transfer your digital card to another Athleticzale via your mobile phone. You can make your transfers up to two hours before kick-off.

Health and safety measures

Given the rise in number of COVID-19 infections, a circumstance that has led to the Basque Government updating health measures, the authorities have requested that precautions be taken and that compliance with preventive measures be emphasised.

Therefore, Athletic Club asks all those attending the match to comply with the health and safety measures while in the stadium, especially the use of a mask covering your nose and mouth during the entire match.

Ticket sales

San Mamés’ tickets office, located between Gates 6 & 7 at San Mamés, will be open during the following times (see official document – In Spanish):

  • Saturday 18th: 10:30-13:30 and 17:30-20:00.
  • Sunday, 19th: from 10:30 onwards.

What’s more tickets will be available online right up until kick-off. Buy tickets online.

The central tier is accessed via Doors A, D and E (See San Mamés map at the end of this article).

Tickets for people with reduced mobility

Tickets for people with reduced mobility, who sit in the last row of the first tier and have unobstructed access to the stadium from the street, can only be purchased at the ticket offices. To do so, it is essential that you present the original certificate of reduced mobility and the ID of the person requiring this type of ticket. The Club will provide a ticket (free of charge) for a companion, provided that the reduced mobility certificate indicates the need for assistance from a third person. Their name and surname must be provided at the time of purchase.

Tickets for visiting fans

In accordance with current legislation (RD 203/2010), tickets will be sold exclusively through the visiting Club/SAD and for an area duly separated from the home fans.

Athletic Club reserves the right to deny fans of the visiting team accesss to the stadium if they have tickets purchased through other channels and which are not located in the area set aside for this purpose.

San Mamés store opening hours

The official shop (located between Gates 26 and 0 at San Mamés) will be open from 10:00 to 19:00, without interruption.

You can also donate to Red Cross Bizkaia, Athletic Club and the AC Foundation’s toy collection drive by dropping off a toy at the official shop during your visit to San Mamés.

Remember that you can also place your orders at the Athletic Club online shop.

Restaurants and bars

Enjoy the match at Geuria!, the sportsbar located between Gates 13 and 14 at San Mamés. You can watch the match on giant screens while enjoying a wide and varied menu at The Cathedral’s in-built bar. From 14:45 CET, you can also order drinks via a bar on the outside of the stadium.

Bar La Campa de los Ingleses will be open from 10:00 to 13:00 and the restaurant San Mames Jatetxea will be closed.

In accordance with current Basque Government regulations, you will have to show your COVID passport before entering any of these establishments.

In addition, the food and drink stall inside the stadium will be open from one hour before kick-off. Remember that, from 24 hours before the match until half-time, you can place your order through the ONLINE BAR (you will find the access button on the app) to avoid queues when picking up your order.

During this match, orders made via the online bar come with a free gift: a free pack of crisps with certain food and drink combos.

AC Museum and San Mames Tour

The Athletic Club Museum will be open for visits (next to gate 20) from 10:00 to 14:15. As it is a match day, the San Mames Tour will not be available on Sunday.

In accordance with the current Basque Government health regulations, you will have to a show the COVID passport before entering the museum.
