Erika Vázquez becomes Athletic Club Women’s record appearance maker

Erika Vázquez became Athletic Club Women’s top appearance maker in history when she turned out against Atlético Madrid during Wednesday night’s Primera Iberdrola fixture at Lezama.

With 414 official matches in the red-and-white jersey, the striker takes over the top spot from former player Eli Ibarra, who played in 413 clashes. Moreover, with 17 campaigns as a Lioness, no other player has played in more seasons at Athletic than Erika, nor has any other scored as many goals.

Since making her debut in the 2004/05 campaign, Erika has scored 263 goals (239 in the First Division, six in the Copa and 18 in the Women’s Champions League).

Erika has won four First Division titles with Athletic: 2004/05, 2005/06, 2006/07 and 2015/16.
