Iribar: "Txetxu is an example of everything Athletic stands for"
The legendary Athletic keeper spoke kindly of his good friend, Txetxu Rojo: "He was an exceptional player, very elegant and very competitive."
Jose Angel Iribar and Txetxu Rojo, the two Lions with the most appearances in Athletic Club history, were teammates from 1965 until 1980.
"Txetxu started playing for Athletic when he was 18. He spent his entire career at the Club. He only ever wanted to play and fight for Athletic. He is an example of everything this club stands for," the legendary goalkeeper said about his friend.
Iribar added: "A lot people would come just to watch him play. He was an exceptional player, very elegant and very competitive. He was fantastic."
