Marta Unzué signs one-year extension

Athletic Club and Marta Unzué (34) have reached an agreement to extend her contract until 30 June 2024. She will thus complete her sixth season as a red-and-white player, where she accumulates 120 games. The player from Berriozar is recovering from a right knee injury she suffered on 14 May at the Johan Cruyff Stadium.

The midfielder arrived at Lezama in the 2018/2019 season on loan from FC Barcelona after 12 seasons wearing the blaugrana colours. Since her arrival at Ibaigane, she has proved to be a player of reference and hierarchy. In the last campaign, in which she became a centenarian, she played 24 games and scored one goal, against Atlético de Madrid.
