The Lionesses will start their summer training camp in Lezama and have several friendlies lined up before the start of the competition
Athletic Club already has a roadmap for the 2023/2024 season in which David Aznar will make his debut on the Zurigorri bench. The women's first team will begin with the pertinent medical tests on 19 July at the IMQ in Zorrozaurre, before starting work the following day at the Lezama facilities. The players will alternate training sessions between Lezama and the Gazituaga pitch in Zamudio before the first friendly match against Racing Santander on Saturday 5th August.
In addition, in preparation for the official competition, the Lionesses will play other friendly matches, including the Teide Trophy against UDG Tenerife at the Estadio Municipal Los Cuartos (Villa de La Orotava), a match against Madrid CFF in Medina de Pomar (Wednesday 23), a home game against Sporting Lisbon (Saturday 26) and the 13th edition of the Euskal Herria Kopa in which SD Eibar, CA Osasuna, Real Sociedad, Deportivo Alavés and Bizkerre FT will take part.
The dates and times of the matches will be announced in the coming days, as well as the first training session for the full squad at Lezama, which will coincide with the press conference to present the new red-and-white coach, David Aznar.
