The Lions, feeling the effects of jet lag, stayed in their hotel in Guadalajara on their first night in Mexico
Athletic Club are now in Mexico as they get set to kick off their pre-season friendly campaign, which begins this Sunday against Chivas in Guadalajara.
The inconvenience of the time change, Mexico being eight hours earlier behind Bilbao, and a ten-hour flight meant that Ernesto Valverde's men, accompanied by Club president Jon Uriarte, arrived at their hotel in Guadalajara at 20:00 local time.
Fifteen or so Athletic supporters were waiting at the airport, where the Club was kindly welcomed by Chivas employees.
On Saturday morning, the team will train at the Akron Stadium around 10:00 AM. So, there was dinner on arrival and the Lions were quickly off to bed.
