Athletic Women to face Granada CF in 23/24 Copa opener

Athletic Club will face Granada CF in their opening game of the 2023/24 Copa de la Reina. The single-leg tie will take place at the Andalusian team's home ground between November 7-9.  

The draw included the teams which finished between ninth and sixteenth in La Liga F last season, along with the eight clubs that qualified for the second round of the Cup competition.

As luck would have it, the Zurigorri's first opponent will be a team from the same league. However, the match will be played at Granada's ground due to where them finishing lower in the table last season. The other all top-flight clash will be between SD Eibar and Levante Las Planas.

• CD Juan Grande vs Valencia Féminas CF

The Lionesses faced Granada a fortnight ago at Lezama. The match, which was postponed from the first week of the season, ended in a narrow 1-0 win with Ane Azkona scoring the only goal of the game.
