More than two million visitors to San Mamés in the 2023/24 season
Athletic's stadium, an icon of the city of Bilbao, makes the most of its modernity and stands out for its dynamism both on match days and for its daily activity
The overall attendance figures for San Mamés throughout the season reveal the daily dynamism of a modern and functional stadium that is an emblem of the city of Bilbao.
In addition to being the Cathedral of football on Athletic's match days, with an accumulated attendance that exceeds one million people, a similar amount of visitoris hasve passed through San Mamés for some of the diverse activities that take place in the stadium on a daily basis. In other words, practically 50% of the attendance at San Mamés takes place on days when the club is not playing a match.
Athletic Club itself has organised a number of events at San Mamés that have brought together close to 100,000 people at the stadium, with a notable increase in the number of users. From the Iker Muniain's farewell to the Go!azen concert, including the Copa final, Athletic Plaza, the Sunday Market, the E-sports tournament, AC Cup and the companies tournament.
Meetings, conferences, exhibitions and other corporate events held in the VIP ring have also been a continuous source of traffic and are a good example of the modernity and functionality of the stadium, which is also located in the heart of the city.
In addition to Athletic Club's matches and three Athletic Club Women fixtures, San Mamés has hosted other world-class sporting events, such as the final of the Women's Champion League and the international friendly between the Basque and Uruguayan national teams.
Special mention should be made of the AC Museoa, which has been visited by around 150,000 people during the season, in addition to the 37,000 people who came to the stadium to have their photograph taken with Athletic Club's 25th Copa trophy.
Finally, it is worth highlighting the daily commercial and hospitality activity at San Mamés, with more than half a million visitors to the official club shop.
